Suicide Prevention Training: Safetalk September 6, 2022

Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training September 12-22, 2022 – Virtual

The Virtual Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) is an innovative distance-learning training that blends a prerequisite, self-paced online course with a combination of live, interactive sessions conducted over video conferencing and individual homework assignments completed before and between the live sessions. Grounded in current research and SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), the Virtual SAPST provides foundational knowledge and skills necessary to implement effective, data-driven prevention interventions that improve substance-related outcomes, reduce behavioral health disparities, and improve wellness.

Natural Peer Support Training Sept. 16-18, 23 -25, 2022

Learn to transform past experiences into healing for others. How can we inspire and empower? Learn Peer Support as a discipline with unique skills, and best practices in alignment with SAMHSA’s Peer Support Core Competencies. This is a highly interactive training, designed for people who have personal experience with recovery from emotional storms, trauma and addiction, or family members. It is an opportunity to study new skills, share our life experiences and join the world-wide peer empowerment movement.

Addiction Treatment in Military & Veteran Culture Specialty Online Training Series Event

The Region 10 Opioid Summit is an opportunity for professionals from Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Indian Nations, urban Indian health programs, and recognized American Indian organizations to meet and explore ways to address the opioid crisis.

Project ECHOs

These virtual learning communities provide educators, service providers, case managers, administrators, families, and others access to expert advice from professionals throughout the state and country, building capacity in home communities to implement best practices and improve outcomes. ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) uses videoconferencing technology to connect a team of interdisciplinary experts with primary care providers, other health services professionals, and community members. The discussions with, and mentoring from, specialists help equip participants to support individuals and their families with health and disabilities related needs in their home communities

The Building Bridges: Alaska Peer Support Conference will occur virtually from June 14, 2022-June 16, 2022. During this three- half-day conference, we will bring together Alaska Peer Support Providers of all types to discuss many recovery-oriented topics. With individuals, community providers, local and keynote speakers, we will build on the two main values in peer support, mutuality, and connection. We are hoping to provide inspiration for this ever-growing workforce, create opportunities to meet and interact, and to learn.
